Magic plays a big part in the Old Kingdom, but many in Ancelstierre do not believe magic exists. I thought this was going to be a story about a young girl on a magical adventure with a sword and a bad hair-do. Belatiel assists her to the forests of the far north, and gives her a bronze mask she earlier used to protect herself from Free Magic. Charter Magic is typically ineffective.
